ELIGIBILITY/TYPE OF EVENT: Non-competitive, non-timed. Walk, jog or run at your own pace. It is open to all and families are encouraged to participate. Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone participating MUST register and carry a Start Card and turn it in at the FINISH. This event normally will be held regardless of weather conditions.
STARTING POINT: Rosenberg Library - Harris Gallery
STARTING POINT ADDRESS: 2310 Sealy Street, Galveston, TX 77550
DIRECTIONS: From Houston: Take I-45 (Gulf Freeway) to Galveston. I-45 becomes Broadway. Turn left on 24th. Turn right on Sealy Street. Library is on the left. Parking available in library parking lot or on street.
START and FINISH TIMES: Start from 09:30 AM to 12:00 noon; finish by 3:00 PM.
DISTANCE: 10km/5km (6.2mi/3.1mi) The route may be walked twice on the same Start Card for 20 km distance credit.
AWARD: IVV credit event.
TRAIL DESCRIPTION: The trail is rated 1A. Trail is on city streets, there are some curbs and steps on the route; may be difficult for wheelchairs. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED in the Rosenberg Library or businesses. PETS MUCH BE ON A LEASH.
REFRESHMENTS: Water will be available at the Start/Finish; it is recommended that you carry water to assure hydration. Restrooms are at the Start/Finish and in businesses along the route.
REGISTRATION & FEES: No pre-registration. IVV credit-only is $3.00. IVV record books will be available for $5.00. Everyone is welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. You may walk for free; however, donations are appreciated. Event takes place rain or shine. No refunds for failure to participate.
